Valentine’s Day will always be a memorable one, for both couples and singles. It’s the day where the guys burn their pocket for ‘LOVE’, hoping that every single penny spent will be well-worth. It’s the day for girls to feel being pampered, being loved, being cared. Yet, it’s a totally different story for the singles, as the day is non-other any special day, except some may call it ‘Single Awareness Day’.

We all know the change of trends nowadays, Valentine’s is just another marketting gimmick. Flowers are sold above the market prices, food comes with smaller portion for sharing purpose…balloons tainted with red colour are seen everywhere. Not to mention teddy bears and chocolates are found everywhere! Still, we all embrace the arrival of Valentine.

I’m no exception. Being attached means that I ain’t single nor available on Valentine’s. Being student means I have no much money to spend, thus settling for street food instead! Being a non-licensed driver means that reliability on public transport is a must. Though it sounds kinda sucks, but I have to admit that 14th of February 2009 is one of my most enjoyable day in my lifetime to date.

There’s a sudden change of plan, as I settled upon the idea of spending the Valentine’s in the nearest shopping complex, she had a change of heart, as we made to source for street food instead. Under the blazing sun, showering the body with tons of smelly sweats, not easy, yet happily we running around the KL areas for the best street food amongst all. I didn’t disappoint her, we tried the best wan tan mee, longan drinks, ever famous mua chi, MAMAMIA!

Not to mention that we made it to Petaling Street, KLCC, Pavillion, TImes Square, JLN Bukit Bintang and finally the internationally-known food street JLN Alor for the grilled fish and chicken wings. This is not part of my plan, but I realise that sometimes, plan just plain useless.

It’s been hell long day of happiness flowing through the vein of mine, though tireness and fatigue slowly swallowing me in, it’s all worth it.

TO my loved one, thanks for spending the day with me, making this one of my happiest moment.
