The Sunway ACCA club (SAC), a division that comprises all the Sunway School Of Professional Accountancy students under its umbrella, organised an Annual Sports Day a week ago. Not wanting to be one of the bookworms lagging behind, I signed up for their basketball competition along with some of my classmates. Though it’s a well-known fact that ACCA students are lifeless, this bunch of people are the one going all out to prove that, books aren’t necessary be our only companion!

To be frank, it’s been 3 years since I last played a competitive match as a school player, and trust me, that precise moment is something you definitely don’t want to know, and something not worth to mention about! I did a gamble initially, thought that ACCA students wouldn’t be any better in basketball except studies, but on that day they definitely proved me wrong! The court was full of good players, muscular bodies, absurd throwing skills. My legs were trembling, somehow there was a strong feeling that made me wanna dig a hole and just insert my head inside.

Prior to that day, me and my teammates trained only twice, and we were lacking a lot of experiences as well as team cohesion, and that truly explains the lost of confidence in myself.

It was a relief when the captain of my team somehow consoled us, ‘Let’s just go and get some experience’. And seriously, that worked for me. For then I went out and truly have fun throwing balls around. As expected, we kena trashed kaw kaw by the 2 teams, losing both with the margin of no lesser than 3 balls. I sprained my neck along the game, and most shockingly my ass cramped halfway the game, marked a ‘bulldozer-style’ player, and doing nothing except scoring a point. Yet, it was an enjoyable one to be cheered upon, and deserved to be added in my collection of life’s memories.

Ops! And that’s me with the lil-disappointing emo look!
