Tagged along a trip organised by ACCA Sunway to visit one of the international Big 4 Audit Firm, KPMG. It’s one of the lifetime opporturnity to see how those big organisations structured themselves in order to maximise efficiency, and of course the chance to see the auditors work in ‘life’.
Special thanks to Mr.Bill for informing me and gave me the chance to explore more and to be exposed.

KPMG, Big 4 Audit Firm
I had been assigned a task by Sunway-TES to be allocated one seat for me to join this trip. What else? Photo-shooting la! Well, I did get to know that ACCA seniors are actually quite camera shy, and I had to ‘pressure’ them to take some pictures! If not macam mana bagi tau bos?

Get to know some of them personally, and built friendships across as well.

Bill kor did some 'networking'
Escorted by their Human Resources personnel and god damn it one of them informed me that no photographing is allowed within the boundaries of their office. Apparently their information is so confidential that only authorised personnel can see it.
The office architecture is very modern, but the environment is so damn dull. Files piling up everywhere, auditors attending to their work apart some few curious faces looking at us. Their faces were very tense, rushing for deadline and walked even at super pace! Great. Now I know I’m gonna be one of them instead in 3 years time, and yet looking at another bunch of ‘innocent and enthusiastic’ students waiting to be trapped within this building.

Conference room
We were brought inside to this damn big conference room in which we were being briefed about KPMG by the Executive Director of KPMG(M), Mr.Siew.

Mr.Siew is a magnificent guy! Humble, down to earth person with a good sense of humour. He didn’t get irritated by the bombardment of questions, though some turned out rather irrelevant. For someone who holds such a high post in office and yet remain humble, he deserves my respect. I bumped into him during the break, and asked him some questions as well.
Me: Mr.Siew, how do you improve your communication skills?
Siew: Always try to initiate conversations, and along the way made a lot of mistakes by offending people, and learn from those mistakes.
OK, he did offend people at times as well.
Ended our enriching trip with a group photo.

LOL. Interaction between people is very important for climbing up the ladder. Nevertheless, keep going on and make more mistakes. More importantly, learn from your mistakes!
