Urban Poor
Went to Prima Selayang a few weeks ago with college friends, as part of the social projects organised by the Moral Education department, to visit the urban poor area to get hands on experience of those trapped in the midst of the development of the country, those who couldn’t escape the reality of poverty.
Poverty-The state of being poor; lack of the means of providing material needs or comforts.
The above definition in no way brings you closer to experience the lives of poor.

Love beyond skin colour
I have never approached these people, I looked down on them, I have chosen to alienate them. But when the reality set in, I put it a thought, and somehow I realised that I have eliminated these people from my vision. Pardon my ignorance, but ever since I was young, my life has been smooth, I don’t have to worry about money, I have a loving family, a younger sis to be cheered upon, friends there to support, I simply have no worries for my life. And this kind of lifestyle actually pampered me till a point that I didn’t know to cherish upon everything I have.

She SMILED to me.
This visit is definitely an eye-opener to me. For what I have the opportunity to see how the poor actually feed themselves through hardcore labour, till the extend of picking up dumps and reuse it back because they simply don’t have the money to buy everything. To know these people earn a mere RM 800 on average per month shocked me. Listening to some of their heart-wrenching stories, I simply couldn’t hold myself back but to think of my parents efforts in working hard to sustain my lavish lifestyle.
Wait? Is my lifestyle considered a lavish one?Yes? No? I don’t know.

Rahud. The next Shah Rukh Khan.
But what is certain to me is that there are people out there who do not lead a life as great as mine. Learn to appreciate everything.

3 musketeers.
