Mum is always heavily involved in charity work. She believes in giving back to the society, to the needy ones. She was part of the poverty group as well, and she is definitely a strong advocate of against poverty. Needless to say, I was influenced by her as much I was influenced by my dad which brought me into the world of politics.

Though I had never suffered poverty living in my life, through media and constant exposures, I do realise that there is another part of the world in which I do not belong in, and certainly no one wants to be associated with it. Ti-Ratana, a charity home spearheaded by the Most-Revered K.Sri.Dhamaratana provides shelter, food, clothes, educations to those under-privileged people, and through their work, they enlighten many souls around.

I came to know about this association the year where I sat for my PMR. I attended one of the seminars organised by them in order to prepare students for the upcoming exam. Ever since we knew about its existence, visiting them has been a routine, a yearly event for the family. Every year, mum has made it clear that each and every of us must allocate time for their yearly celebration for their establishment. And every year, we didn’t disappoint.

It’s their 12th year for 2009 and on Saturday, 26 September 2009, I rushed back to house after the parents-lecturers day held at my college to get myself prepared for the event. It was amazing, to think back that I held a Fujifim prosumer during their 10th, Nikon D40 during their 11th, and now Nikon D90 during their 12th. I kinda have this feeling that I shall bring D3 for their 13th lol!

The kids there were simply adorable and amazing. Consider that they were abandoned since young, some were even abused by their parents, a simple gesture like a smile melted people’s heart. Performances by the kids were great as well! And I was tweeting it the whole night covering the event hoping somehow that, people will know more about this association.

Lift a hand, light a heart.

If you are interested in joining me to help to contribute to this association, do drop me a PM and I shall contact you further to explain some details. The next outing would be most probably during Christmas, or perhaps earlier.
Remember, sharing is always caring.
