Saviour my best football moment

After googling around the net a while, I found out that there’s pretty many contests running across bloggers offering free Chelsea VS Malaysia match tickets, which of course thrilled me! Though I may stand a slim chance of winning it, I will still go for it! It’s lifetime opportunity! To be able to watch Terry up close, it’s too tempting to be turned down! No harm trying right?

My best football moment

This moment goes back to the day when I have Bio for my mid-year exam but what even important was that Chelsea VS Man UTD in the Champions League final, each gunning for the ‘holygrail’ in the world of football. And yes, I sacrificed my sleeping time for the sake of supporting my team, even my mom nagged me for not focusing solely on studies. But I know, my blood is blue, and I was going to do whatever I could to offer them support, which is what a typical Chelsea fan do.

Flashing back to the memory is hard, as our team lost to MU in the penalties, it’s heart-breaking, it’s heart-wrenching, and it’s pain. Looking back, where two of the shots almost seal the game but then denied by the crossbar, the game was taken to penalties. I have bad luck at watching penalties. Each time when the team I supported goes through penalties, losing is the decision not an options. Still remember Chelsea lost the penalties to Liverpool at 2007 semi-final, heart-breaking once again.

But still, I held my nerve, watching the players shot one by one. Ballack, Lampard, Cole, Beletti…Ronaldo, arguably the best player at that time, missed the penalty. And in just one shot we could sealed the game, winning our first ever Champions League Final, the ‘holygrail’. On coming was my idol, the Mr. Chelsea, John Terry. He’s the one who brought the club to this stage, and he could won the trophy for the club. Just one more shot. My heartbeat increased to the maximum level.

One…Two…Shot! For the split of one second, I saw Van der sar ( Goalkeeper) jumped to wrong side, the ball was heading to the right! It’s going in! IN! IN!

Then came a big ‘bang’. The ball hit the goalpost, and yes, again. The club lost the penalties.

Totally heart-breaking for me to endure such a cruelty in life. But we have reached so far after all. In which we went on to claim the runner-up medal.

This may not define the BEST FOOTBALL MOMENT properly. But to me, yes, the best moment I could ever get. In which I could see the tears flowing from the supporters and players, and me too. Realised that winning is not everything, but to stand tall even we lost the game. Deep inside, I knew, we will come back again next season, because IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING!

Best Beer Moment

I don’t drink beer. Sorry.
